Career Employment Opportunities Many individuals with intellectual disabilities want to be placed in a "regular" job where most (if not all) their co-workers have no disability. Opportunity Village helps these individuals fulfill their dreams. Opportunity Village has decided to specialize in a few different jobs that are very common in Las Vegas' economy: food service, retail, janitorial and office practices, among others. We offer individuals with intellectual disabilities a specialized assessment and training in one or more of these careers.
Some individuals need no additional support. Others need ongoing support and Opportunity Village's job coaches provide that support to the individual and their employer. If the individual should want to change their career, Opportunity Village will assist them in getting additional assessments and training so they can find the right job for them. |
Once the individual has completed the assessment/training and demonstrated that they have acquired the appropriate work-related attitudes and behaviors to be successfully employed, the job developers and job coaches of Opportunity Village will assist the individual in finding competitive employment. Once this placement is made Opportunity Village's job coaches will provide one-on-one support to assure that the placement is a success.
