History of Sean's Park
In 2008, CEO Emeritus, Ed Guthrie, Senior Executive Vice President, Linda Smith, Senior Grants and Major Gift Officer, Cary Harned and the OV Board of Directors decided to follow our mission to provide individuals with disabilities productive, happy and healthy lives- and create the United States' first life-learning park. Since then everyone has worked hard to make this dream come to fruition. With a generous donation from the Morrissey family, this life-learning park became a reality. The park is named after Mike and Patty Morrissey’s son- Sean, an OVIP at Opportunity Village.
On June 23, 2015 Opportunity Village broke ground and began working on the construction.
On May 11, 2016 Sean's Park had its official Grand Opening!
