Opportunity Village believes that people with intellectual disabilities and their families should have choices in where and how they are served. So, Opportunity Village provides a variety of different programs which provide men and women with all levels of disabilities the chance to lead a life that had previously been unattainable.

school to workMany of the men and women at Opportunity Village aspire to gain employment in the community. Opportunity Village provides assessment and training as well as job placement, job coaching and follow-along serves. More than 475 people with disabilities received assessment, training and placement services while another 250+ people are employed by Opportunity Village in service contracts throughout southern Nevada. There are opportunities in a variety of fields from food service and custodial to administrative and housekeeping.

Opportunity Village operates three Employment Resource Centers in Las Vegas, Henderson and Clark County. These facilities serve as learning centers for people with intellectual disabilities at Opportunity Village. They also provide assembly, packaging, mailing and fulfillment services for companies and local community organizations. Opportunity Village is also one of the largest document imaging and document destruction companies in Nevada. While many of the community employment opportunities require evening and weekend hours, the Employment Resource Centers offer daytime hours and a Monday – Friday schedule that is attractive to many people.

school to work transition programThe School-to-Work Transition Program provides high school students with intellectual disabilities the training and information to help them decide what career path they would like to take. Students participate in five 9-week programs so they can "sample" a number of jobs and find out what best suits them. Opportunities include retail, child care, food service, custodial and housekeeping.

Project Enable is a community-based, therapeutic day training program that provides the services, support and supervision necessary for people with more severe intellectual disabilities to become active, productive members of our community.

Project P.R.I.D.E. is also a community-based, therapeutic day training program but it is targeted at people who have intellectual disabilities and severe physical disabilities. P.R.I.D.E. is an activity based program that encourages people to socialize with others and participate in the community.

art enrichmentOpportunity Village's Art Enrichment Program encourages people with intellectual disabilities to discover and utilize their untapped talents. The "fine arts" portion of the program includes painting on mediums such as silk scarves and canvas as well as drawing sketches. The works of our students/artists are displayed in locations around Las Vegas and sold to art lovers of all types.

Opportunity Village is proud to announce the opening of the new Performing Arts program. People with disabilities are generally deprived of such opportunities and this program will be the first exposure to music, dance and theater that some of them have had in their lifetimes.
