Opportunity Village set to host Fall Into Fashion benefit August 09, 2018 09:46
LAS VEGAS – Opportunity Village volunteer group, the OV Angels, have partnered with Zappos for Good, stylist Tiffany Weekes and Las Vegas jeweler MJ Christensen to put on Fall Into Fashion on Saturday, August 18 to benefit the Madi Peck Endowment Fund.
The special mix and mingle event will feature a boutique, lite bites and an Opportunity Village fashion show starting at 2 p.m. at the Opportunity Village Ralph and Betty Engelstad Campus located at 6050 S. Buffalo Dr. Las Vegas, NV 89113.
Opportunity Village clients, along with the endowment’s namesake, Madi Peck, will model the latest fashions as they make their way down the runway – each individual will be escorted by an athlete from UNLV. All Opportunity Village clients participating will be wearing outfits provided by Zappos for Good that were hand selected for them by stylist Tiffany Weekes to represent their individual style.
One highlight for Opportunity Village models this year is that they get to add the fashion they wear to their closet at home thanks to a gracious donation from Zappos for Good. Equally exciting is that the jewelry paired with the fashions will go home with them as well, thanks to partner MJ Christensen.
“The Madi Peck Endowment was started 10 years ago by some very gracious friends of ours who saw the struggles we went through with Madi on a daily basis,” said Terri Peck, mother of the 19-year-old Madi, who was born with a rare genetic disorder and lives with complex and profound disabilities. “The Madi Peck Endowment is a $1 million endowment that will help fund one of the most amazing programs at Opportunity Village – the P.R.I.D.E. (People’s Rights to Independence Dignity and Equality) Program.”
“We’re honored and grateful the Peck Family has chosen to help Opportunity Village’s P.R.I.D.E. Program,” said Chuck Neuwohner, who oversees all programs and services at Opportunity Village. “Not only will this endowment benefit Madi in a few years, but also many wonderful clients served by OV.”
Tickets for Fall Into Fashion start at $35 for individual seats. A table of eight costs $250. Click here for tickets.

About Opportunity Village
Mission: Opportunity Village is a not-for-profit organization that serves people within our community with significant intellectual disabilities, to improve their lives and the lives of their families.
Seven families who were determined to give their children with disabilities the best lives possible founded Opportunity Village in 1954. Now, more than six decades later, Opportunity Village is one of the most recognized and respected organizations of its type in the United States.
Nevada’s largest employer of people with disabilities, Opportunity Village serves nearly 2,000 individuals annually, providing vocational training, employment, habilitation and social recreation programs and services that make their lives more purposeful and interesting.
Opportunity Village citizens – individuals who were previously considered unemployable – work at Opportunity Village’s Employment Resource Centers and in jobs throughout the community, collectively earning wages amounting to more than $3.7 million in 2016. They are hardworking and diligent, proudly paying taxes and happily leading more fulfilling lives.
Primarily a self-funded organization, Opportunity Village generates the majority of its operational funding through its employment contracts and fundraising efforts such as the Magical Forest and Great Santa Run, saving Nevada taxpayers more than $37 million annually.
