Below you will find a list of free/cheap community events all around Las Vegas. Please note that these events are not put on or supported by Opportunity Village. We offer this calendar as a way for individuals who attend Opportunity Village to find ways to plug into ongoing community events with friends and family! Please check back often, as this calendar will be updated regularly with new events.

  • What: Astronaut comes to Springs Preserve
    When: Daily from 9am-5pm
    Where: Origen Museum – 333 S. Valley View Blvd.
    Information:  Free Admission for members.  For non-members, General Admission tickets range from $6-$18.  If you’ve ever wondered what it is like to be an astronaut, visit the 26 exhibits that show the physical and psychological effects of living in outer space. See what it’s like to be a part of a space mission!

  • What: Movies on the Green
    When:  Thursday, August 3rd
    Where: Town Square – 6605 S. Las Vegas Blvd.
    Information:  Free admission for all ages. This week’s featured movie is Moana.  Begins at sundown.  Features entertainment and activities for kids.  No outside food or beverage permitted.

  • What: Dive in Movies at Wet ‘n’ Wild
    When:  Friday, August 4th & Friday, August 11th
    Where:  Wet ‘n’ Wild Las Vegas – 7055 S. Fort Apache Road
    Information: Grab some family and friends and enjoy a movie while floating at the wave pool – beginning at sundown.  Contact the park for admission information

  • What: Animal Encounters at Springs Preserve
    When: Saturdays and Sundays until September 24th – 11am & 2pm
    Where: Origen Museum – 333 S. Valley View Blvd.
    Information:  Patrons are invited to meet desert critters while exploring the museum.  You will learn all about how the animals use their desert surroundings to survive.  Demonstrations will be taking place as well.  Admission is free for members or included with paid general admission

  • What: Hot Yoga at the Neon Museum
    When: August 2nd, August 16th, and August 30th – 5:30pm-6:30pm
    Where: Neon Museum – 770 N Las Vegas Blvd.
    Information:  Come enjoy 1 hour of hot yoga outdoors at the Neon Museum.  The Neon Museum asks that you bring plenty of water, a yoga mat, towel, and anything additional you might need. The Neon Museum will NOT be providing yoga mats.  Price - $18 per person and museum members get $5 off!

  • What: Rainforest Adventure  
    When: Daily until Monday, September 4th
    Where: Las Vegas National History Museum – 900 N. Las Vegas Blvd.
    Information: An interactive experience that allows visitors to learn more about how rainforests are integral to human health and survival.  Visitors will also learn that by taking care of the rainforest, they are assisting in caring for the planet.  This exhibit is included with general museum admission.  Free for Las Vegas Natural History Museum members, $10 for adults

    Information: $25 admission for adults and $20 with a local ID.

  • What: Spacewalk: A Virtual Reality Experience
    When:  Friday, September 1st – Sunday, September 17th – 9am-5pm
    Where: Springs Preserve - Origen Museum – 333 S. Valley View Blvd
    Information:  Designed for ages 13 and older, this virtual reality experience allows patrons to view the universe in 3D.  It allows you to take a “trip” into outer space and experience zero-gravity!  This exhibit is free for members or with paid general admission.  Reservations are required. They are accepted on-site (first come, first serve).  The Springs Preserve also recommends you visit Astronaut – their traveling space themed, hands on exhibit.

    Information:  General admission prices are $9 – feast and celebration includes the best Italian food and entertainment.  Live acts every hour on the main stage

  • What: 45th Annual Greek Food Festival
    When: Friday, September 15th – 3pm-11pm
    Saturday, September 16th – 12pm-11pm
    Sunday, September 17th – 12pm-10pm
    Where: John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church – 5300 S. El Camino Road
    Information:  One day general admission prices are $6 and $10 for a 3 day festival pass.   Parking is free and the festival includes Greek food, drinks, sweets, bands, dancing, and even an area for children to enjoy!

  • What: Decadence Food Festival
    When: Saturday, September 23rd – 11am-2pm

    Information:  This family friendly event is free and open to the public. There is complimentary parking available onsite and this festival includes a playground, splash pad area, and food, and live entertainment as well.

  • What: Great American Foodie Fest
    When: Thursday, September 28th & Friday, September 29th – 5pm-11pm
    Saturday, September 30th & Sunday, October 1st – 12pm-10pm
    Where: Sunset Station Casino – 1301 W. Sunset Road
    Information:  General Admission tickets are $8 during the presale, and $10 at the door.  The Great American Foodie Fest includes more than 50 food trucks and specialty food vendors, amazing attractions, cooking demonstrations, carnival rides, a beer garden, and a live DJ.  The festival features some of the country’s best foods that have been featured on the Food Network, Travel Channel, and more!
