Celebrate Día de los Muertos at the Magical Forest!
LAS VEGAS – Día de los Muertos is back for Year 2 at the Magical Forest at Opportunity Village. Join the non-profit and several community partners on Monday, November 1st, for a spectacular evening filled with uniquely decorated altars, traditional Mexican food and drink, can’t-miss entertainment, and much more inside the beloved 2.5-acre park located at 6300 W. Oakey Blvd.
Experience the “magic” of the forest in a new and colorful way, and celebrate Day of the Dead like never before starting at 5:30 p.m. Inside the park, guests will be able to enjoy live mariachi and baile folklorico performances, create an altar for their departed loved ones or bring mementos for the large community altar, and join in on the park’s sugar skull and face painting stations. An altar decorating contest will also take place towards the end of the evening, with amazing prizes handed out to the top vendor/group.
“We’re honored to bring the wonderful tradition of Día de los Muertos back to the Magical Forest,” said Yanique Shim, Director of Event Services at Opportunity Village. “The energy and enthusiasm from 2019 are something we haven’t forgotten, and we hope this year’s event allows Southern Nevadans the chance to have a night out to celebrate their departed loved ones and soak up the beauty of Mexican culture.”
The Magical Forest will offer up its traditional games, rides and attractions during Día de los Muertos, including all the park’s Midway Games, the Forest Express Passenger Train, the Avalanche Slide and Cheyenne’s Enchanted Carousel. Tickets, which are just $15 per person, may be purchased online by clicking here. Children 3 and under are FREE.

They are hardworking and diligent, proudly paying taxes and happily leading fulfilling lives.
Primarily a self-funded organization, Opportunity Village generates the majority of its operational funding through its employment contracts, multiple business lines, fundraising efforts such as the Magical Forest and Great Santa Run, and grants on the federal and state level, saving Nevada taxpayers more than $37 million annually.
