During our latest virtual Ambassador training, the Ambassadors interviewed OV Board Member and Board Secretary, Erin Morrissey!
Erin Morrissey has been with Morrissey Insurance since 2012, where she assists clients in the selection, implementation and maintenance of their employee benefit programs. Erin is instrumental in helping OV employees with their health benefits and works with us every year to make sure we have the best health plans for Opportunity Village! Erin joined the Opportunity Village Board of Directors in January 2016, and currently serves as the Board Secretary.
How did you get involved with OV?
Erin: I have been involved with Opportunity Village since the day I was born. My dad has been on the board for over 35 years and my older brother Sean, has been at OV for 15 years. I have grown up going to OV events year after year. I have been on the board since 2016.
How has your life improved since being on the OV Board?
Erin: It has been interesting to see the Operations side of Opportunity Village. For many years I thought that the events could just magically happen. Now, being on the board, I see all of the hard work that OV does to make these events happen. Opportunity Village has done a great job, especially evolving through COVID. My goal as a board member is to make lives better. I want to make sure my brother has a place to go that makes him happy.
What is your favorite hobby?
Erin: I have been working on my hobbies lately. Now, I typically watch Netflix, but I'm trying to read more. I like spending time outside and hiking with my dog (Maggie - Golden doodle). I like to play tennis and pickle ball. Pickle ball is one of the fastest growing sports in the United States. I like to travel; I used to live in Australia and would move back in a heartbeat if it were not so far away from family.
Thank you Erin for your dedicated service on the Opportunity Village board since 2016.
