Boyd Gaming and Opportunity Village Partner to Celebrate OV Artworks Studio Launch
LAS VEGAS (September 22, 2025) – As a longtime supporter of Opportunity Village, Boyd Gaming is doubling down on its partnership with the nonprofit this September.
The Boyd Gaming Fine & Performing Arts Program at Opportunity Village serves people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in music, dance, theater, and visual arts. In celebration of the program's new online storefront and customized merchandise, Boyd Gaming will donate $100 to Opportunity Village for every social media post made from Sept. 22-26 featuring a limited-edition OV Hat and using the hashtag #WearTheHeart, up to a maximum of $10,000.
"For decades, Boyd Gaming has been honored to partner with Opportunity Village as it enhances the lives of thousands of local residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Boyd Gaming Fine and Performing Arts Program is an important part of that mission – and the launch of OVArtStore.org will introduce our entire community to the incredible artwork of the talented artists at Opportunity Village," said David Strow, vice president of corporate communications for Boyd Gaming and Opportunity Village board member.
As part of the campaign, Opportunity Village will provide a limited-edition hat to influencers, media, celebrities and others to wear in videos and photos to show support for Opportunity Village and OV Artworks Studio, a division of Opportunity Village, born from the Boyd Gaming Fine & Performing Arts Program.
On www.OVArtStore.org, shoppers can purchase fine art pieces to support OV artists, find unique gifts like the famous Opportunity Village scarves, or stock up on thank you cards designed by artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The artwork featured on the OV Hat was created by Opportunity Village artist Sharen, and is also the central design used on the Opportunity Village Nevada license plate. Sharen is a fan of watercolors, and she is very particular when it comes to color tones, as she has a refined sense of seeing very small differences between similar colors. Her work is abstract and features balanced geometric compositions.
The Boyd Gaming Fine & Performing Arts Program was designed to increase people's awareness of the arts, support their creative passions, and offer individualized and group training while promoting self-expression, social interaction and peer relationships. Participants have the opportunity to showcase their visual artwork for exhibition and sale, and to perform on the stage at Opportunity Village and community events throughout the year.
