OV Spotlight: Brian Kleven

Tags: Published On: August 19, 2025

Opportunity Village is proud to highlight Board Member Brian Kleven, who has been a dedicated member of the OV Board since January 2024. Brian first became involved by serving as a volunteer on the Opportunity Village Finance Committee.

Brian currently serves as the Nevada Market Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Dignity Health’s St. Rose Dominican Hospitals. In this capacity, he oversees the financial operations spanning all business entities in the region, including three acute-care hospital campuses, a medical group of approximately 50 providers, and several large-scale joint ventures in the greater Las Vegas area.

Get to Know Brian:

Q: What is your favorite type of food?

A: Seafood—especially shellfish, sushi, and crab. I love sushi spots in Henderson, like Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar and Grill at the Green Valley Ranch Resort & Casino, and I’m also a big fan of NOBU at Caesars.

Q: What are some of your hobbies outside of work?

A: I’m a family guy, first and foremost a husband and father. I have two boys in high school (junior and sophomore) and a daughter in 8th grade. We love traveling together, especially to St. George, Utah, and Southern California. I also try to make time for exercise, whether it’s running or hitting the gym.

Q: What is one thing you cannot live without?

A: Coffee in the morning. And Cherry Coke.

Q: What is your favorite sports team?

A: The Vegas Golden Knights. I’ve been a hockey fan most of my life. My brother is a huge superfan. I moved here from L.A. in 2016 and have been a VGK fan ever since. I also love the Las Vegas Raiders.

Q: If you could pick one superpower, what would it be?

A: The ability to read and control minds or time travel. Maybe even traveling between alternate universes.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?

A:  Rome, Italy.

Q: What are you most proud of?

A: My wife and kids. My family means everything to me.

Q: What is your favorite holiday tradition?

A: Christmas in Southern Nevada, and visiting places around Las Vegas, including the Magical Forest at Opportunity Village. OV hosts a night at the Forest for Dignity Health, which is so much fun for families. The whole Christmas season is a special time here.

Q: What is one piece of advice you would give people who are thinking about getting involved with Opportunity Village?

A:  It’s more encouragement than advice: take risks in life. If you’re hesitant about something, go for it. You’ll be rewarded in ways you can’t imagine, especially by helping people with disabilities. Opportunity Village is an incredible organization to be part of.

Q: What is your favorite OV event:

A:  Camelot. It’s more intimate than other galas, and I love the location.
