Tags: Published On: April 20, 2026Last Updated: April 20, 2026

David Strow has been involved with Opportunity Village for over 12 years, serving as a member of the OV Board. He is the Vice President of Corporate Communications at Boyd Gaming. David was first introduced to OV by former Associate Executive Director and Chief Fundraising Officer Linda Smith, who invited him for a tour. Not long after, he was asked to represent Boyd Gaming on the OV Board, and the rest is history.

Get to Know David:

Q: What is your favorite type of food?

A:  I’m a big fan of buffalo wings. If they’re on the menu, I’m ordering them.

Q: What are some of your hobbies outside of work?

A: I enjoy spending time with my family and have recently gotten back into reading, especially classic books.

Q: What is one thing you cannot live without?

A:  My iPad. I use it to stay up to date with the news and what’s happening in the world.

Q: What is your favorite sports team?

A: I grew up in Phoenix, so I’ve always been a fan of the Arizona Cardinals. Since moving to Las Vegas, I’ve also become a Vegas Golden Knights fan.

Q: If you could pick one superpower, what would it be?

A: I’d choose the ability to go back in time 24 hours at any moment—just in case I wanted to fix a mistake or do something differently.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?

A: I’ve had the chance to visit Europe over the past few years and really enjoyed it.  My next big trip would be to Japan.

Q: What are you most proud of?

A: My family—my wife and son—are at the top of the list. I’m also proud of my career at Boyd Gaming, where I’ve spent 19 years doing meaningful and exciting work. And of course, I’m incredibly proud of my involvement with Opportunity Village. Being part of OV for over a decade and getting to know the community we serve has been truly inspiring. The people we support are some of the happiest, most optimistic, and open individuals. It’s always a joy to spend time with them.

Q: What is your favorite holiday tradition?

A: We make it a point to visit the Magical Forest every year. We also enjoy going to Arizona to ride the North Pole Express out of Williams, Arizona. Those little traditions create lasting memories, and it’s important to make time for them.

Q: What is one piece of advice you would give people who are thinking about getting involved with Opportunity Village?

A: Take the time to get to know the people OV serves. That’s the most meaningful way to truly understand the mission. Once you see firsthand who they are and how special they are, it gives you a whole new perspective on the impact of your support. Whether it’s taking a tour, attending an event, or sitting in on a program, like I recently did with a Custodial University training class, it really brings the mission to life.

Q: What is your favorite OV event?

A: The Magical Forest. It has become such a beloved holiday tradition in Las Vegas and introduces so many people to Opportunity Village and our mission.
