Opportunity Village Celebrating Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month
LAS VEGAS (March 3, 2026) – Opportunity Village is celebrating Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month this month in a big way. From basketball tournament brackets and community partnerships, Opportunity Village has something for everyone to participate.
To kick things off, Opportunity Village has brought back its popular Hoops Hoopla fundraiser with bracket selections available for the Men’s and Women’s NCAA Basketball Tournament. Learn more or register for Hoops Hoopla at www.SupportOV.org.
Each bracket costs $50 or $90 for both. Register now-March 19 before the first game begins. All proceeds go to support Opportunity Village in its mission to serve people with disabilities.
Throughout Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, Opportunity Village is partnering with local businesses to spread awareness of developmental disabilities and share its March theme, Don’t ‘dis’ my abilities. A full listing of partnerships is available at www.SupportOV.org, but they include special shopping events at Altar’d State, Honey Vintage & Bath, Lazy Dog, Kendra Scott, Cinlo Co., Pinot’s Palette, and Sport Clips, where a portion of sales go back to Opportunity Village during the campaign periods. Follow Opportunity Village @OppVillageLV on Facebook and Instagram for additional details.
“March is one of the most important months of the year for Opportunity Village, shining a light on the people we serve and how much people with developmental disabilities can do,” said Bob Brown, president and CEO of Opportunity Village. “As we lift them up and share their stories this month, we hope the community comes together to support OV.”
Since 1954, Opportunity Village has served people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Southern Nevada community. Today, OV offers residential housing, direct employment, workforce training, direct employment, day habilitation, and enrichment activities across the Las Vegas Valley.
